Well, I need to start with a bike and the most popular for the type of conversion I plan is a 26" men's bike. I picked up this old (c.1966) Schwinn Typhoon on craigslist. Looks like a worthy donor. As of tonight it is stripped down and I hope to be starting to paint it this weekend. I'm looking for white tires and an old Bates style leather seat.

The motor is on order. It's a 50cc from BikeBerry.com. PA laws regarding motorized bikes are pretty sketchy, but pretty much anything over 50cc is a motorcycle, so no point in tempting fate with anything larger.
